Restoring your Forum from faulty HTML & javascript.


Step 1.

Continue with Step 1, if you are unable to access your Administration Panel in the normal manner. Otherwise, go to Step 2.

Edit the following URL, to include the address of your site.

Code:

http://YOUR_FORUM_NAME.forumup.com/login.php?redirect=admin

Paste the amended URL into the Address field of your browser.

Press Go. Enter your detail into the Login page. Then do the same for the Admin Panel Login page.

Note: This URL is only effective if you are not logged in.


Step 2.

In your Administration Panel, scroll down to Forum Admin. Select ForumUp HTML Error. Do NOT select Management, if your problem is severe.

Displayed, will be a listing, containing all of the code within each Forum Name, and Description. At the base of the page will be a similar list of the Categories.

Locate the code that you believe is causing the fault. Below each Forum / Category Name is a check-box labelled ‘Select for Fix’. Check this for the suspect Forum / Category code.

Tip: If you’re unsure as to which code is causing the problem;
-> Be aware that the symptoms usually appear in your forum, below the faulty code.
-> It is also good practice to first Copy & Paste the code into another document, such as Notepad. This ensures that you can put it back in place later, should you establish that it was not the faulty code. You can do that from this page.



At the bottom of each listing, Forum Name & Description, and Category, is a button labelled ‘Fix HTML’. Pressing this button will remove the suspect code from those fields. The text “ForumUp Fix” will replace the suspect code.

Note: The Forum Name is also replaced, along with the Forum Description.


You may repeat the above process until you eliminate the faulty code.
